Im currently at a house doing construction on a retaining wall system. During the process of digging a hole for a pier for a tie back I discovered a drywell where the pit and pipe have come disconnected. The line going in to the well was dispensing water in to the earth. There was another drywell that had come disconnected from the sump pump discharge. Question: Is a drywell system designed for proper drainage behind a retaining wall system? This part of the property had a tremendous amount of erosion. There is no drainage around the wall it self. Question: If the proper drainage was in place would a drywell system work for this application. Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are.
